It started with a group chat.

GROUP CHAT
GLOW UP.

Three moms showed up to a school function. Nobody else did. The rest is Mama Squad.

The Origin Story

THREE MOMS.
ONE GROUP CHAT.
NO GOING BACK.

It started at a school function. Three of us showed up. Nobody else did. So we did what any self-respecting badass moms would do โ€” we took the whole thing over, rocked it out, and started a group chat to basic-bitch about being the only ones who showed up.

We pulled in some old mama friends, the chat grew, and one of us โ€” the one who is absolutely the organizer-manager type, named the group chat Mama Squad. Because that's what it was.

Then one of the moms started going through it. Really going through it. And she kept asking โ€” out loud, to anyone who would listen. Often.ย "Is it this hard out here for everyone? We can't be the only ones. There have to be other stories like this."

She needed a village. Not a hotline. Not a listicle. A real village, people who had been through similar things and lived to tell the story. People who could say "here's what worked" and "here's what absolutely didn't." Maybe possibly a good lawyer. A random winning lottery ticket, or a shot of tequila. Depends on the day.

"WE CAN OVERCOME THE BREAKS IN THE SYSTEM IF WE ARE STRONGER AND SMARTER TOGETHER. Not in fixing, but better navigating the outcomes".

In the middle of all of it, there was also a pivot โ€” back to school, psychology degree, trying to figure out: in a world where the system is genuinely difficult to change, how do we change how we navigate it? How do we work around the places it's failing us? How do we get stronger at the broken parts instead of just surviving them? Staying quiet, bitching about it while we put up with it?

The answer kept coming back to the same thing: learn from each other. The lessons. The failures. The journeys. What worked getting through the hard stuff as an adult. What helped navigating kids through the things, what didn't, or what nobody warned you about? What you wish someone had told you. THE TRUTH. Not the bullshit. Because the bullshit does not protect your peace, your finances, or your children.

So that's what this is. The group chat, scaled. The village we built ourselves because nobody was going to hand it to us.

HEY -- WE ARE NEW HERE. BEAR WITH US.

We know it is quiet right now. The site is new, the community is just getting started, and we are all doing this while also being moms, going back to school, working, and surviving. This is not a side project or a content strategy. This is something we actually needed and could not find anywhere else -- so we built it.

We are being transparent about where we are because that is kind of the whole point of this place. No pretending. No fake busy. Just real people building something real -- and we are glad you found us early. Stick around. It is going to be worth it.

Coming Live

WE'RE BRINGING THE
GROUP CHAT LIVE.

This whole thing started as a group chat. Three moms, one thread, zero filter. That's still the energy โ€” and now we're building it out for real.

Squad Chat is a live community space โ€” weekly topics, real conversations, research and resources woven in. Not a Facebook group. Not a Discord server. Something built specifically for moms who are done pretending everything is fine and ready to actually talk about it. With receipts. And citations.

What We Stand On

THE NON-NEGOTIABLES.

NO FILTER. NO FLUFF.

We say the thing. The thing nobody else will say in a parenting space because it might upset someone. We trust you to handle the truth โ€” because you've been handling it alone for a long time.

RESEARCH-BACKED, NOT RESEARCH-BURIED.

We cite our sources. We link the studies. We tell you when something is evidence-based and when it's just our opinion. We're not doctors โ€” not claiming to be. But we're also not BuzzFeed. We're humans doing our best, so don't come at us โ€” but do expect real research, real citations, and the honest version of what we actually know.

SAFETY IS NOT AN AFTERTHOUGHT.

The Safe Space section exists because too many moms are navigating dangerous situations with no real support. We take that seriously. No judgment, no gatekeeping, no "are you sure?"

THE VILLAGE IS REAL.

Humans evolved to raise children in community. Modern motherhood stripped that away and handed us a highlight reel instead. We're building the village back โ€” one honest conversation at a time.
